Internet Marketing

When people hear the term “internet marketing” they often think of get-rich-quick schemes. It is true that scammers operate inside the internet marketing realm, as they operate in any place that they can. Where there are people, there are potential victims for scammers. You need to open your eyes to the true and legitimate opportunities that exist with internet marketing, whereby many ordinary people are making a good (and often great) income from home.

The work “marketing” often puts people off, because they have bad connotations with conventional selling. Many people do not like, nor do they wish to be, salespeople, and understandably so. What people need to realise is that marketing simply refers to the process of conveying one’s product or service to the appropriate target audience. If this marketing is done correctly then no hard selling will be required, because the correct target audience is already primed to buy. It is just a matter of presenting them with what they already want to purchase, in the correct way.

Internet marketing does not need to be about learning and teaching people how to make money online. It can be selling dog training DVD’s to people who want to learn how to train their dog, or selling a book about boat safety to boat enthusiasts. As you can see, countless internet marketing opportunities are available. All it takes is some thought and creativity. Wherever a market of buyers exists, there is the opportunity to use the internet to sell them what they want to buy.

Internet marketing can be done from home and it does not require any one-on-one communication with people. Of course, some types of internet marketing are more involved than others, but it is possible to engage in many forms of internet marketing without ever speaking to another person, if that is what one desires. This is an extreme case, but it just goes to illustrate that it is possible.

Internet marketing is a great way to create income, rather than earn income. This is achieved by using leverage. In a conventional job you get paid proportionally to the amount of work you do. One hour’s work is equal to one hour’s pay, not to mention any unpaid overtime you may do. When you engage in internet marketing it is possible to work once, but get paid over and over for that same work. For example, you may spend a day creating a sales page to sell a particular product, which is not at all difficult to do if you have the right tools and guidance from someone who has done it all before. Now consider if a day’s salary for you is usually $100, for example. If the product is $25, then you should sell 4 to make up for the time that you have spent on the project so far. Every sale you make after your first 4 sales will then be pure profit, whether it be 10 or 1,000 more sales. If you make 1,000 sales in the course of an entire year, which is not difficult with the right product, then you will have made $25,000 for a day’s work. Now that is pure leverage.

With internet marketing it is literally possible to make money while you sleep. That may seem too good to be true to many people, but it makes perfect sense when you think about it. The internet is working 24 hours a day, every day of the year. If you have a website selling a product, that website will continue to sell to people all over the world, regardless of whether you are awake, asleep, at home or on holiday.

Some types of internet marketing include, but are certainly not limited to, affiliate marketing, CPA marketing, displaying Google Ads, blogging, video marketing, eBay selling, review sites, etc. etc. The best thing to do is get a mentor or someone with experience to help guide you in the right direction. The biggest problem that new internet marketers face is lack of focus. It is best to pick something and stick to it until you are successful, before widening your aim. There is so much opportunity that exists, and certainly enough of it to go around. It is also good to have someone to help you avoid the scams, as with any industry.
